For many of us, shoveling snow is a major part of the winter. It works almost every part of our body and is performed in a less than ideal climate (sub zero temperatures). There is a reason working out in a cold environment is uncomfortable, our muscles are less pliable and at risk of becoming strained. That’s why a warm-up is important and key to preventing injury.
The following are examples of a warm-up to target the whole body (perform this prior to stepping outside):
