National Student Assembly Annual General Meeting Grant - Member Support Fund (MSF)

Purpose:
To ensure that one or more School of Medical Rehabilitation student(s) from the University of Manitoba attends the Annual General Meeting of the National Student Association (NSA) of CPA and experiences the Annual General Meeting of CPA.

Criteria:

  • The representative must be a member of the CPA.
  • The Junior representative (second year) to the Manitoba Physiotherapy Association Board of Directors is given first opportunity to be the delegate. The representative must have attended 70% of the Board meetings to qualify. If the Junior representative is unable to attend, a representative from the School of Medical Rehabilitation student council may be given the opportunity.

Selection Process:

  • The Junior student must decide by January 15 whether he/she will be attending. If he/she is unable to attend, the procedure will be:
  • By February 1, an explanatory letter with an application will be placed in each council and NSA representatives' mail box at the SMR.
  • An application form from those interested in attending will be received by March 1 at the Manitoba Branch office.
  • A member(s) of the Manitoba Physiotherapy Association Board of Directors will decide on the candidate.
  • The candidate will be notified by March 15.
  • The representative will be expected to submit an article to the SMR and Manitoba Branch newsletters.
  • The delegate shall arrange to give a brief account to the second year class in September prior to the CPA orientation.

Procedure:

  • Annually, the Treasurer will budget sufficient funds to cover registration, airfare, hotel, food, ground transportation.
  • The Executive Director will discuss the registration procedure and booking details with the successful candidate taking into consideration registration deadlines. The student will be given a copy of the Reimbursement Policy.
