Course Lower extremity - foot conditions July 17, 2024The concept of “the body is a functional unit” has been described in various sources. This course will discuss how the lower extremity/foot relates to the global body and should be considered in your assessment and treatment methodologies.

The course will discuss various common pedal issues as well as ailments that should be considered in your differential diagnosis. The relevant anatomy and biomechanics will be reviewed to help in the understanding of how to approach conditions like tarsal tunnel syndrome, plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonosis,  tibialis posterior dysfunction, Avascular necrosis (AVN) within the foot, CRPS, high ankle sprain, tarsal coalitions, Spring ligament sprains, peroneal tendonopathy.

 Course will review concepts including but not limited to:

              Lines of gravity, posture and gait

              Proprioceptors in the sinus tarsi and vestibular/ocular system

              Horizontal to vertical concept (in the foot and body)

              How the cranium and plantar fascia are related.

              Review conditions like: pes planus, LLD, pes cavus, forefoot varus, etc...

              Learn manual techniques to approach the concepts & the conditions

              Etc...
